Juniors Matt Carlino and Tyler Haws led BYU to a 44-33 halftime lead over in-state rival Weber State.
Haws scored 14 points with eight rebounds and Carlino had 11 points with four assists and two steals.
BYU jumped out to a quick start with Carlino scoring the first two points of the game on a jumper from the top of the key and then started a 15-1 run with his second basket of the game. On a Weber State fast break during the run, sophomore Kyle Collinsworth ran down the court to deny a layup. Haws had seven points during the run.
After the under eight minute media timeout, the Cougars went on a 9-0 run to go up 35-16. Haws hit the first three of the game for the Cougars to cap the run to go along with four points from Carlino.
BYU dominated the glass outrebounding Weber State 24-18 including six offensive rebounds. They shot 42.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from behind the arc.
