The BYU men’s basketball team (8-3) will travel to Texas to play the Baylor Bears on Friday night at 8 p.m. CST on ESPN2. Also listen live on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.
The Cougars have won three-straight games, most recently a 95-62 victory over Eastern New Mexico. Tyler Haws led BYU with 19 points against the Greyhounds while teammates Brandon Davies, Agustin Ambrosino and Cory Calvert also contributed double-digit points with 17, 14 and 10, respectively.
Haws has been the team's leading scorer in five games this season and Davies has now scored in double figures in 18-straight games, dating back to last year.
Baylor is 7-3 on the season with one of its program's biggest wins coming a couple weeks ago over No. 8 Kentucky in a 64-55 final. It was Baylor's first-ever non-conference road win against an AP Top 25 team and snapped Kentucky's nation-leading 55-game home winning streak. The victory also provided some payback after the Wildcats ended Baylor's 2011-12 season in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight on an 82-70 score.
Most recently, the Bears defeated USC Upstate 73-57 behind 17 points from redshirt junior Cory Jefferson.
Baylor finished the 2011-12 season with a 30-8 record and a run to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.
