The BYU men’s basketball team (9-4) will play its second game of the season at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City this Saturday at noon MST against ACC foe Virginia Tech (9-3). The game is just the third all-time meeting between the teams and will be the 15th all-time game for BYU at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Cougars are coming off an 84-54 victory at home over Northern Arizona and have now won 10-straight games at the Marriott Center, dating back to Feb. 2 of last season.
Against the Lumberjacks, Brandon Davies led all players with his second-straight double double on 27 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Haws and Raul Delgado also finished in double digits with 15 and 11 points, respectively. BYU recorded a season-high 15 team steals in the victory.
Virginia Tech has lost three of its last five game and holds a 9-3 record for the year. Most recently, the Hokies fell 88-52 to Colorado State. Senior Erick Green led Virginia Tech, and all players, with 26 points on 10 of 21 shooting from the field and 2 of 7 shooting from the 3-point line. Green is the team's top returning starter from the 2011-12 season and currently leads the nation in scoring.
The Hokies return three starters to a team that finished last season with a 16-17 overall record and a ninth place finish in the ACC.
