While Kyle Collinsworth was not named player of the week by the West Coast Conference office, College Sports Madness did take notice in naming him their WCC Player of the Week on Nov. 17. Collinsworth led BYU to a 3-0 record this week with wins over Stanford (112-103), Mount St. Mary’s (108-76) and Colorado Mesa (84-60). He averaged 14.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.7 steals while shooting .483 from the field and .600 from three.
Against Stanford, Collinsworth came close to a triple-double with 14 points, seven boards, nine assists, one block and three steals. With leading scorers Tyler Haws and Matt Carlino in foul trouble in the first half, Collinsworth led the Cougars to a 54-46 lead at the break with 12 points, four boards and eight assists.
Collinsworth added a double-double against Mount St. Mary’s as he totaled 13 points and 10 rebounds in addition to four assists. Against Colorado Mesa, he totaled 14 points, six boards, six assist and four steals.
