No. 21 Iowa State wins a close one, 90-88

The second half began with both teams trading points back and forth. The score remained with the Cougars ahead 58-54 at the first timeout.
 
Iowa State tied the score for the first time in the second half from a free throw with 7:20 left in the game to make the score 73-73. The Cylcones took their first lead since the 10:37 mark in the first half at 78-77. 
 
Iowa State's DeAndre Kane got a flagarant two foul and was ejecgted with under four minutes to go after poking Eric Mika in the eyes. Mika left the game and would not return. A pair of Tyler Haws free throws put the Cougars behind 82-79. 
 
Haws drained a mid-range jump shot to put the score at 89-87 with the Cyclone advantage. With 30.0 seconds left in regulation, the ball was tipped on the Iowa State inbounds pass. Anson Winder recovered the ball and got fouled, hitting one of two free throws which left the score at 89-88, Cylcones.
 
Haws had a chance to take the lead but was blocked. After recovereing the ball, Daniel Edozie made one free throw. The ball was inbounded to Kyle Collinsworth who missed the last shot of regulation, giving Iowa State the 90-88 win. 
 
Four Cougars finished the game in double-figure points: Mika (17), Haws (20), Matt Carlino (19) and Collinsworth (11). 
 
Nate Austin grabbed 13 boards to have consecutive games with double-figure rebounds for the first time in his career.
