Live from the KSL 5 TV studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose began his weekly show with a full recap of last week's action for BYU against Pepperdine and Santa Clara.

"We won two games last week - and that's great for us. We got 63 points one night and then had to get 96 the next just to get another win. It's great to see we can win in different types of games."

BYU defeated Pepperdine 63-61 on the road and won 96-79 over Santa Clara at home. Against Pepperdine, coach Rose highlighted the team's ability to be unselfish and work together to get the win. He also highlighted the play of Brandon Davies and Tyler Haws

Against Santa Clara, coach Rose talked about how pleased he was with the second half especially and how points in transition can make or break the game. BYU outscored Santa Clara 20-4 on fastbreak points and 50-20 on points in the paint.

Later in the show, coach Rose talked about BYU's defensive strategy in keeping its opponents' offense in check.

And to finish the show, Rose gave a quick preview for what's next this season for the Cougars and how the other teams in the West Coast Conference are shaping up.

Live from Legends Grille, assistant coach Mark Pope filled in for head coach Dave Rose on his weekly coach's show. Coach Pope started the show talking about what's coming up for BYU and how they're looking right now.

"We're looking forward to the second half of our conference play. It's nice that we've seen all these teams already - last year there were some teams we didn't see until the second half. The guys are excited to play more games. The beautiful thing about basketball and the season is we can write our own story - we can still grow and prepare for what's coming based on what experiences we've had already."

Coach Pope also gave a recap of BYU's last two games against Gonzaga and Portland, highlighting the team's ability to stay composed on the road and get a win after a tough loss.

Later on in the show, coach Pope talked about Brandon Davies, Brock Zylstra and Matt Carlino's performances through West Coast Conference action, how they've improved and ways they can still improve.

Ian Harward joined the show later to talk about how he's shaping up this season after battling back injury and to answer some fan questions.

Coach Pope also finished up the show answering questions from fans.

Live from the KSL 5 TV studios, head coach Dave Rose started his show with a full recap of last week's games. BYU hosted Saint Mary's in a 70-69 buzzer-beater loss and also San Diego last Saturday in a 74-57 victory. The Cougars are now 5-1 in West Coast Conference action.

Against the Gaels, Rose highlighted Tyler Haws's performance. He finished with 23 points to lead the team.

"Tyler's a sophomore and a guy who's having one of the best sophomore years we've seen at BYU in a long time. The guys realy know they can rely on him. They know that down the stretch he's a guy we can go to."

Against the Toreros, Rose highlighted the team's overall performance. Every healthy player was able to see minutes and contribute to the game. Four players finished with double-figure points, led by Tyler Haws's 25.

"We had a lot of guys scoring and a lot of guys moving the ball. Matt (Carlino) did a great job of controlling the game and that's huge when he can play like that - it gives everyone else confidence and we perform better overall."

Later on in the show, Coach Rose talked about the team's strategy for slowing down and controlling an opposing team's point guard. Rose pointed out that the Cougars have played some great point guards this season and, to keep them in check, the team has to use specific strategy.

To finish the show, Coach Rose previewed BYU's upcoming games against Gonzaga and Portland, and discussed how the rest of the West Coast Conference teams are shaping up.
