BYU scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 37-10 lead into the fourth.

J.D. Falslev had a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown down the left sideline with just under a minute left, the first punt return for a touchdown by BYU since Falslev returned one for a touchdown in 2011 at TCU.

The Cougars took their first drive of the third quarter 60 yards in 12 plays, capped off by a 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Alisa, his second of the game. The touchdown gave the Cougars a 30-10 lead. Taysom Hill was 3-4 with 40 yards passing on the drive.
