BYU beat the Boise State Broncos 37-20 behind Taysom Hill's four touchdowns and 339 passing yards. Jamaal Williams contributed 107 yards rushing on 21 carries.
In the fourth quarter, the Broncos scored their second touchdown of the game when Grant Hedrick connected on a 47-yard completion to Aaron Burks to set up a 14-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Harman. The score cut the BYU lead to 34-20 with just over 10 minutes left in the game.
The Cougars took a 37-20 lead on the ensuing drive. Jamaal Williams’ 17-yard run was followed by a 13-yard completion to Cody Hoffman to move the ball into Bronco territory. Three straight rushes set up a 41-yard field goal by Justin Sorensen, his third of the game.
BYU started the quarter by forcing the fourth BSU turnover of the game. Tyler Beck jarred the ball loose from BSU running back Jay Ajayi and it was recovered by Remington Peck at the BYU 42-yard line.
With five minutes left in the game, the Cougars forced a fourth and one at the BYU 44-yard line. Austin Jorgensen and Skye PoVey combined to stuff Ajayi and give the ball back to the Cougars.
