BYU vs. Utah third quarter

The Cougars added six points to the board on two made field goals in the quarter to cut the deficit to 13-6.

BYU's first points came on a 32-yard field goal by Justin Sorensen with 11:39 remaining in the third quarter. The Cougars scored another field goal that came from the 31-yard line to cut the deficit to 13-6 with 5:39 left in the quarter.

Sophomore Mitch Mathews received an 18-yard pass from Taysom Hill with 13:08 left in the quarter that was followed by a 41-yard rush by Hill for a first down.

Mitch Mathews' 26-yard reception from Hill was a career high.

Cody Hoffman moved to No. 4 all-time at BYU for career receiving yards with 2,850, passing Margin Hooks.
