BYU football’s game against Houston on Saturday will mark the 50th time the Cougars have played in a current or former NFL stadium.

This game marks the first time BYU plays at Reliant Stadium and the third time the Cougars have played in Houston, playing at Rice Stadium in 1979 against Texas A&M and in 1997 against Rice.

BYU has a 27-20-2 record in the previous 49 games in one of thsoe stadiums. The two ties come from the same season (1991) when the Cougars tied Iowa (13-13) and San Diego State (52-52) in Jack Murphy Stadium (Qualcomm). The best win streak for BYU took place from 1983-1985 when the team won five straight games.

The highest score the Cougars registered happened in 1979 against San Diego State when they won 63-24. The largest margin of victory for BYU happened in 2009 at the Louisiana Superdome, when the Cougars beat Tulane by 51 points, winning 54-3. The highest ranked opponent BYU was #3 Oklahoma (14-13) in Cowboys Stadium in 2009.
