Hill and Van Noy lead College Sports Madness All-Independent Teams

Taysom Hill was named Independent Offensive Player of the Year and Kyle Van Noy was named Independent Defensive Player of the Year by College Sports Madness. The two were among eight Cougars named to the All-Independent First Team.

The other six named to the first team include running back Jamaal Williams, wide receiver Cody Hoffman, kicker Justin Sorensen, kick returner Adam Hine, defensive back Daniel Sorensen and punt returner JD Falslev. Offensive lineman Solomone Kafu, defensive linemen Bronson Kaufusi and Remington Peck, linebacker Uani 'Unga and defensive back Craig Bills earned second team honors.

Tight end Kaneakua Friel, offensive linemen Kyle Johnson and Michael Yeck, defensive lineman Eathyn Manumaleuna, linebacker Alani Fua and defensive back Robertson Daniel were named to the third team.

BYU had seven players honored this year that were also on the 2012 list (Williams, Hoffman, Van Noy, D. Sorensen, Falslev, Friel and Kaufusi).
