Traveling by air, bus and car, the players, coaches and staff from the BYU football team arrived in San Diego late Sunday afternoon.
The team was welcomed by a lineup of committee members from the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, a mariachi band, hotel staff and other family and friends.
Head coach Bronco Mendenhall spoke briefly with the media upon arrival as well as defensive lineman Russell Tialavea, an Oceanside, Calif. native, and wide receiver JD Falslev.
Aside from bowl game preparations, the Cougars will head to SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and participate in several other activities throughout the bowl week.
