Q&A with Cory Calvert

Why did you choose to come to BYU?

I love the school and the tradition it has. The basketball program is great, so it was kind of an easy choice.

If you could do one thing extremely well, besides basketball, what would that be?

Probably golf, which I’m really bad at.

When did you start playing basketball?

At three or four years old I started shooting hoops, so I’ve pretty much always played. My dad loves basketball so he kind of got me into it.

Why did you choose to come to BYU?

It was a dream come true to play here, more than anything. I grew up going to all the football games. Before I committed here I was probably a bigger BYU football fan than I was a BYU basketball fan. It’s still probably pretty close. It’s always been a dream of mine, so when BYU offered, it was a done deal.
