PROVO, Utah – The second half between BYU and Pepperdine was a back and forth affair until late in the half. What started as a 10-point Pepperdine lead never was more than 12 or less than seven until six minutes left to play.

Haws moves into third on BYU's all-time scoring list

PROVO, Utah - Tyler Haws scored 14 points in the first half versus Pepperdine to pass Michael Smith for third place on the BYU all-time scoring list. The Cougars were also led by Anson Winder who scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds but trailed at the half 39-29.

PROVO, Utah – It's separation week in the West Coast Conference, as Saint Mary's, Gonzaga and BYU have a chance to build a cushion over the other seven teams in the conference. Third place BYU plays fourth place Pepperdine and Gonzaga plays fifth place Santa Clara with plenty of time still left in the conference season.

PROVO, Utah – After the opening weekend of conference play, the Cougars (11-4, 1-1) leave the state of Utah for the first time since returning from the Maui Invitational as they'll take on Santa Clara and San Francisco. Tyler Haws has a shot at passing some more names on career scoring lists, while the entire conference has a hot hand from the outside.

The Cougars began the second half strong. Two steals in a row from Kyle Collinsworth and Chase Fischer led to two transition buckets by Tyler Haws and Fischer to give BYU the 50-39 lead with 18:30 left.

BYU leads Portland 43-37 at the half

BYU opened up the game with a steal by Anson Winder that led to a 3-pointer from Tyler Haws to take the early 3-0 lead. Winder nailed another three to go up 10-6 with 16:55 remaining in the first half.

Gonzaga wins 87-80

BYU took its first lead of the game on three free throws from Tyler Haws to start the second half. The teams exchanged buckets with BYU keeping the advantage until Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos scored off a turnover to tie the score at 49.

Moments later, Corbin Kaufusi dunked the ball to break the tie. Kyle Collinsworth laid the ball in over the top of Gonzaga’s Byron Wesley for the largest Cougar lead of the game at 55-49.

The Zags hit first with back-to-back baskets from Kyle Wiltjer. BYU tied the score at four on free throws by Worthington, but Gonzaga answered with a 12-0 run.

BYU wouldn’t score another field goal until the 12-minute mark. Tyler Haws threw down a field goal, which Skyler Halford followed with a 3-pointer.

BYU defeats UMass in overtime, 77-71

UMass jumped out to a 67-63 lead at the 3:42 mark of overtime. A jumper by Kyle Collinsworth and two free throws by Anson Winder gave BYU its first lead of overtime, 69-68.
