Back in the KSL studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose started his Coach's Show with a full recap of BYU's 84-54 win over Northern Arizona and 97-71 victory at EnergySolutions Arena over Virginia Tech.

BYU (10-4) defeated Virginia Tech 97-71 at EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday and enjoyed some nice publicity afterward. Tyler Haws scored a career-best 42 points against the Hokies — tied for eighth most in BYU history and two more that his dad's career high (Marty Haws scored 40 against Siena in 1989).

The BYU men’s basketball team (9-4) will play its second game of the season at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City this Saturday at noon MST against ACC foe Virginia Tech (9-3). The game is just the third all-time meeting between the teams and will be the 15th all-time game for BYU at EnergySolutions Arena.

The Cougars are coming off an 84-54 victory at home over Northern Arizona and have now won 10-straight games at the Marriott Center, dating back to Feb. 2 of last season.

BYU assistant coach Mark Pope, filling in for head coach Dave Rose, started the Coach's Show with a look at last week's games for BYU against Eastern New Mexico at home and Baylor on the road. The Cougars defeated the Greyhounds 95-62 and fell to the Bears 79-64.

BYU head coach Dave Rose, live on KSL 5 TV, began his Coach's Show with a recap of last week which included finals for the players and a game at Weber State on Saturday night.

"I was really pleased with how we started that game at Weber State. The key for us was to get the ball insdie - and Brandon (Davies) played at a great pace for us. He really delivered."

The Cougars won 78-68 over the Wildcats behind a career-high 33 points from Davies. The win was the first true road win for BYU in the 2012-13 season.

The BYU men’s basketball team (7-3) returns to the Marriott Center on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. MST when they host NCAA Division II opponent Eastern New Mexico. The game will be broadcast live on BYUtv and KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.

The Cougars are coming off their first true road win, a 78-68 final over Weber State, behind a career-high 33 points from Brandon Davies. Davies scored 18 points in the first half on his way to a career night.
