Jorgensen, Falslev having surgery

BYU senior linebacker Austen Jorgensen will miss the rest of the year and senior receiver/return specialist JD Falslev will be out 3-4 weeks due to planned surgeries. 

Kick time for BYU vs. Wisconsin set

The kick time for the BYU at Wisconsin football game on Nov. 9 was announced today. The game will be played at Camp Randall Stadium beginning at 2:30pm CT (1:30pm MT) on ABC or ESPN. The network will be determined next week.

BYU beats BSU 37-20

BYU beat the Boise State Broncos 37-20 behind Taysom Hill's four touchdowns and 339 passing yards. Jamaal Williams contributed 107 yards rushing on 21 carries.

In the fourth quarter, the Broncos scored their second touchdown of the game when Grant Hedrick connected on a 47-yard completion to Aaron Burks to set up a 14-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Harman. The score cut the BYU lead to 34-20 with just over 10 minutes left in the game.

BYU takes 34-13 lead into the fourth

Taysom Hill's third passing touchdown of the game and a field goal from Justin Sorensen helped the Cougars take a 34-13 lead after three quarters. Hill was 4 of 8 with 64 yards in the quarter.

BYU up 24-3 at half

Cody Hoffman’s 4-yard touchdown with 44 seconds left in the half broke the all-time record for touchdowns by a BYU receiver and gave the Cougars a 24-3 lead. The score was set up by a BYU fumble recovery. After an 11-yard catch and run by Shane Williams-Rhodes, BYU safety Craig Bills forced a fumble that was recovered by the Cougars at the BSU 39-yard line.

BYU leads BSU 7-0 after one

The Cougars scored the first points of the game and lead 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Pregame notes for Boise State

BYU vs. Boise State

Tonight's game will mark the fourth meeting between Boise State (5-2) and BYU (5-2), with the Broncos leading the series 3-0. Last year, the Cougars fell 7-6 in a hard fought defensive battle in Boise, Idaho. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:06 p.m. MDT and will be broadcast on ESPN.

Cougars make 50th appearance in NFL Stadium

BYU football’s game against Houston on Saturday will mark the 50th time the Cougars have played in a current or former NFL stadium.

This game marks the first time BYU plays at Reliant Stadium and the third time the Cougars have played in Houston, playing at Rice Stadium in 1979 against Texas A&M and in 1997 against Rice.

BYU beats Georgia Tech 38-20

BYU scored two touchdowns to Georgia Tech's one in the final quarter to secure its 38-20 victory.

In the first play of the quarter, Kyle Van Noy sacked the quarterback for a loss of 10 yards that forced Georgia Tech to attempt a field goal kick from the 42-yard line that missed wide left.

On the ensuing play, Taysom Hill was sacked for a loss of 10 yards and was sacked again two plays later for another loss of eight yards that forced the Cougars to punt.

BYU remains up 24-13 after the third quarter

Both BYU and Georgia Tech were scoreless in the third quarter. 

The third quarter was a battle of defenses. In the first drive of the quarter, Spencer Hadley sacked the quarterback on 3rd down for a loss of nine yards that forced the Yellow Jackets to punt just two minutes into the quarter. 

Georgia Tech punted a total of three times and had a turnover on downs. BYU punted four times in the quarter with one blocked by a Yellow Jacket.
