BYU head coach Ed Eyestone and Jason Witt will appear on TrackTown LIVE at 2:00 p.m. PDT in celebration of Eyestone's victory in the 10,000-meter race 30 years ago. Witt will compete in the 10,000-meter race tomorrow at the NCAA Championships. You can catch the program live on the embeded video below.

Former BYU track and cross country All-American Jason Pyrah will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in ceremonies on Jan. 26 at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield, Mo.

McAdams advances to 3,000 meter steeplechase final

Former Cougar Josh McAdams (2004-2006) ran in the 3,000 meter steeplechase preliminary at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials on Monday and advanced to the final. McAdams, represented by New Balance, ran the race in 8:31.15 and finished fifth in his heat to automatically move on to Thursday's final.

Walker and Sork's winning race at the USA Junior Championships

It has been chronicled here on BYUcougars.com that Shaquille Walker won the 800 meters at the USA Junior Outdoor Championships last weekend and has qualified for the IAAF World Championships in Barcelona. What has not been mentioned is that the second-place finisher who also qualified for the World Junior Championships is BYU signee Tanner Sork from Camas, Wash.

Shaquille Walker discusses his victory in the 800 meter final at the 2012 USA Junior Track and Field Championships on June 16. Walker will represent the U.S. at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona from July 10 to 15.

Successful first day at USA Junior Championships

Freshmen Shaquille Walker and Kevin Nielsen had a successful first day at the USA Junior Championships on Friday in Bloomington, Ind.

In the 800 meter prelims, Walker won his heat and had the second-best time of the day of 1:50.97. By winning his heat, Walker automatically advances to the 800 meter final on Saturday.

Two BYU freshman will compete at the USA Junior Outdoor Championships in Bloomington, Ind., this weekend, June 15 to 17. Shaquille Walker will compete in the 800 meters and Kevin Nielsen will compete in the decathlon.

Batty looking to qualify for Olympics

UPDATE (June 13, 1:45 p.m. MT): Batty's situation got a little more interesting as he recently announced via Twitter that he broke his wrist diving for the finish line at nationals. Don't worry, he convinced his doctor to not put him in a hard cast so he can run at the trials.

When Chris Carter advanced to the final of the 400 meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, his performance stirred up memories of Ralph Mann, one of BYU's greatest track athletes who competed in the same event more than 40 years ago.
