BYU is back on the road to face No. 14 Boise State at Albertsons Stadium tonight at 8:15 p.m. MDT.

The game will be televised live nationally on ESPN. It will also be streamed online on or with the WatchESPN app.

Williams named to SI's 2016 Midseason All-America Second Team

At the midpoint of the 2016 season, Sports Illustrated named senior running back Jamaal Williams its 2016 Midseason All-America Second Team.

Williams has had a dominant season so far with 942 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Nobody else on the team has more than four touchdowns. He leads the team in all-purpose yards with 1,022, averaging 146 yards per game.

Sundance because it’s pretty affordable. Park City sometimes too, especially since it’s gotten bigger. 

Bernard named Madness Indepedent Defensive Player of the Week

After his career performance in the double overtime win over Mississippi State, sophomore linebacker Francis Bernard was named Madness Independent Defensive Player of the Week.

BYU defeats Mississippi State 28-21 in second overtime

The Bulldogs scored a 2-yard touchdown to increase their lead 21-14. The Cougars answered with a Taysom Hill touchdown and an Andrew Mikkelsen PAT to send the game into second overtime.

Tanner Balderree caught a 25-yard touchdown pass to immediately put BYU up 28-21 in second overtime. The Cougars’ defense held Mississippi State to win the game 28-21. 

BYU fourth quarter touchdown sends game into overtime

The Cougars opened the fourth quarter with energy as Taysom Hill’s 15-yard pass found Moroni Laulu-Pututau in the end zone. Laulu-Pututau’s second touchdown of the season tied the game 14-14. Andrew Mikkelsen, BYU’s third kicker of the season, was credited with the PAT.

Cougars continue to trail 14-7 after scoreless third quarter

The Bulldogs maintained their seven-point lead throughout the third quarter as neither team scored. BYU made it to the 1-yard line on the final possession before Mississippi State defense forced a rush for loss of seven yards on Taysom Hill.

BYU topped Mississippi State in rushing yards to this point but the Bulldogs have tallied 173 passing yards while holding the Cougars to 103 yards. 

Bulldogs lead 14-7 at the half

BYU ended the first half trailing 14-7. 

Early in the second quarter Micah Hannemann notched the Cougars’ first interception of the night. It was the third pick of his career and BYU’s 11th of the season. The Cougars advanced 44 yards before Rhett Almond missed 42-yard field goal attempt with 9:38 left.

With 3:54 left in the first half, the Bulldogs put another touchdown on the board to extend their lead 14-7.

BYU and Mississippi State tied after first quarter

BYU and Mississippi State finished the first quarter tied 7-7 Saturday night in Provo.

Mississippi State scored the first touchdown of the night off a 44-yard pass from Nick Fitzgerald to Keith Mixon with 9:13 remaining on the clock.

Jamaal Williams becomes BYU's career rushing leader

PROVO, Utah - BYU running back Jamaal Williams reached 3,468 yards in a double overtime game against Mississippi State Friday night, giving him the school record for career rushing yards.

The crowd honored him with a standing ovation and a special banner draped across the student section after a nine-yard run to set up BYU's first touchdown in overtime. The Cougars scored again in double overtime and stopped the Bulldogs on fourth down to seal the win.
