At what point did you realize you could run in college?

“The first time I knew I could run in college was the end of my freshmen year. I had an unexpected finish to the year and I knew when it was over that I could only get better.”

What was the recruiting process like?

“It was a long process. I had certain criteria that I wanted the schools to fit. As each school didn’t fit it, I would cross them off. I basically narrowed it down to two schools. I went on a couple official visits and afterwards knew where I wanted to go.”

BYU women's volleyball began their first full day in Seattle by studying for finals and viewing film on their opponent. The Cougars then headed over to Alaska Airlines Arena for a press conference and practice. Coach Shawn Olmstead, junior outside hitter Alexa Gray and senior opposite Jennifer Hamson addressed the media and fielded questions.

Senior guard Tyler Haws continues his move up the record books. This week he moved into the top 10 in 3-pointers made, minutes played and games started at BYU. He passed Anthony Ireland on the West Coast Conference career scoring list for all games. Haws also set the WCC record for made free throws in a career and continues to add to it. He's also now top five nationally in five offensive categories and is top 25 in seven categories.

The two teams started off the second half trading buckets. Chase Fischer made a 3-pointer to put BYU up 38-34. Utah responded by going on a 10-0 run to take the 44-38 lead with 16:05 left in the game.

Tyler Haws nailed a shot beyond the arc to get within three, but the Utes answered back with a three of their own to take the 52-42 lead with 11:30 remaining.

The game started off with a big block from Josh Sharp that led to Tyler Haws’ first jumper of the night and BYU’s first points. Utah answered back quickly, going on a 7-0 run to lead 7-2 with 17:11 left in the first half.

On Friday, NCAA.com posted a video feature on BYU senior guard Tyler Haws and his mission in the Philippines and his successful return to basketball at BYU. The five-minute feature includes interviews with Tyler, BYU head coach Dave Rose and Tyler's father and BYU alum Marty Haws.

Collinsworth leads BYU to 90-70 win over Hawaii

Kyle Collinsworth’s triple-double led BYU to a 90-70 victory over Hawaii. Collinsworth had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Cougars started off the second half with a 3-pointer from Tyler Haws to make it 40-32. Chase Fischer then went on a 6-0 run with a three then a layup and the foul shot to put BYU up 50-38 with 15:32 left in the game.

Hawaii opened up the game on a 7-0 run, forcing BYU to call a timeout with 17:23 left in the first half.

The Cougars answered back with its own run. Tyler Haws got two straight buckets and Kyle Collinsworth threw it down to get within one. Collinsworth found Winder at the other end of the court and threw it to him for two quick points and the 8-7 lead for BYU with 15:55 left in the first half.

Cougars win first round of NCAA tournament, begin preparations for Arizona

BYU women's volleyball began the day with an early morning practice. Following lunch, the Cougars returned to McKale Memorial Center to face Seton Hall. After a sweep of the Pirates, BYU began preparations for the second round of the NCAA tournament by watching the No. 11-seed Arizona vs. Yale match. The Cougars spent the rest of the evening studying film and working on homework. BYU will face Arizona tomorrow with a 5:30 p.m. MST match start time.
