Anson Winder contributes to team identity

Team talent, speed, toughness and personality sometimes vary from season to season, especially with seven newcomers.
 
"There's a lot of personality with this group," coach Dave Rose said at media day. "I think that they're extremely energetic and passionate."
 
Besides the new faces, BYU returns five players from last year including redshirt junior Anson Winder.

Hunt and Owens receive weekly awards after Portland and Gonzaga wins

Sophomore defender Paige Hunt and senior goalkeeper Erica Owens were given weekly awards by two different websites this week after the No. 20 BYU women's soccer team defeated Gonzaga and then-No. 6 Portland 1-0 last week.

Hunt was named a Primetime Performer by collegesoccer360.com for her defensive effort and her assist on the game winning goal against Portland.

New record book for BYU basketball

Throughout the last several years, the BYU Athletic Communications staff has collected as many men's basketball stats as possible and put them into a database. From that data comes the BYU Men's Basketball Record Book, 40-pages of records and stats for your enjoyment.

Davies signs with the Sixers

Earlier this morning, former BYU forward Brandon Davies posted the photo below on Instagram and included the following ' "When one door closes, another opens.." #76ers #20 #BLESSED.' If you haven't figured it out by now, Davies has officially signed with the Philadelphia 76ers. Davies was born in Philadelphia but was adopted just days after birth and was raised in Provo by his mother, Kathy.

Kick time for BYU vs. Wisconsin set

The kick time for the BYU at Wisconsin football game on Nov. 9 was announced today. The game will be played at Camp Randall Stadium beginning at 2:30pm CT (1:30pm MT) on ABC or ESPN. The network will be determined next week.

BYU beats BSU 37-20

BYU beat the Boise State Broncos 37-20 behind Taysom Hill's four touchdowns and 339 passing yards. Jamaal Williams contributed 107 yards rushing on 21 carries.

In the fourth quarter, the Broncos scored their second touchdown of the game when Grant Hedrick connected on a 47-yard completion to Aaron Burks to set up a 14-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Harman. The score cut the BYU lead to 34-20 with just over 10 minutes left in the game.

BYU takes 34-13 lead into the fourth

Taysom Hill's third passing touchdown of the game and a field goal from Justin Sorensen helped the Cougars take a 34-13 lead after three quarters. Hill was 4 of 8 with 64 yards in the quarter.

BYU up 24-3 at half

Cody Hoffman’s 4-yard touchdown with 44 seconds left in the half broke the all-time record for touchdowns by a BYU receiver and gave the Cougars a 24-3 lead. The score was set up by a BYU fumble recovery. After an 11-yard catch and run by Shane Williams-Rhodes, BYU safety Craig Bills forced a fumble that was recovered by the Cougars at the BSU 39-yard line.

BYU leads BSU 7-0 after one
