Cougars trail Lions by one at half

BYU trails LMU 38-37 at the end of the first half. Matt Carlino is leading the Cougars with 12 points on 4 of 6 shooting. Kyle Collinsworth filled up the stat sheet with eight points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. Tyler Haws also pitched in seven points.

BYU splits series with Pepperdine after 84-72 victory

BYU never trailed on their way to an 84-72 victory over Pepperdine.

BYU was led in scoring by Tyler Haws’ 35 points. Kyle Collinsworth continued his strong all-around play tallying 15 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and three steals. For the game, the Cougars shot 46.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from behind the arc. They held the Waves to 40.4 percent shooting and 30.4 percent from distance.

BYU leads Pepperdine 33-30 at the half

BYU started fast and held on to lead 33-30 over Pepperdine at the break.

The Cougars were led by Tyler Haws 13 points while Kyle Collinsworth and Skyler Halford added seven points each. Collinsworth also brought down five rebounds and dished out three assists.

Cougars in the Pros: Fredette scores season high

Jimmer Fredette scored a season-high 15 points to go along with four rebounds and a block in 17 minutes of play. Fredette and the Sacramento Kings fell 113-104 to Brandon Davies and the Sixers. 

Fredette also added 10 points in a 110-106 win against the Houston Rockets last Tuesday. 

BYU Basketball beats San Diego

Skyler Halford scored a career-high 28 points to lead the Cougars to an 87-53 victory over San Diego. Halford shot 11 of 16 on the night and connected on four 3-pointers. Tyler Haws scored 17 points and Erik Mika scored 13 before leaving the game early in the second half due to injury.  Kyle Collinsworth contributed 12 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

BYU Basketball leads 41-23 at half

Led by Skyler Halford’s 15 points, BYU leads San Diego by 18 at the half. Halford hit three 3-pointers and was 6 of 8 from the field. Tyler Haws and Erik Mika each chipped in 10 points, and Kyle Collinsworth had four points, five rebounds and five assists.

Hamson enters 1,000 point club

With 24 points against Utah State last Saturday, senior center Jennifer Hamson entered the 1,000 point club. She now has 1,020 points in her career, good for 23rd all-time in BYU history.

Senior Kim Beeston looks to join the club next, having scored 982 career points to date.

Full final day prior to Fight Hunger Bowl

After a full day of events on Thursday, the BYU football team is less than 24 hours from facing Washington in the 2013 Fight Hunger Bowl. The Cougars took the field at AT&T Park on Thursday afternoon to conduct a team walk-through at the site of Friday's primetime matchup between the Cougars and Huskies.
