BYU wraps up day one at Last Chance Meet in Provo

After a successful day of competition at the Last Chance Meet, several athletes improved their individual times and marks to earn regional qualifying marks.

Clark Brown ran a personal best in the 100m with a time of 10.31 while Derek Sorensen added a personal record of his own with a time of 10.52.

Bull, Breland recognized in softball publications

Cougar Fans in Houston enjoy BYU Fan Fest

A large turnout of Cougar fans in Houston met and mingled with BYU coaches and athletes on Saturday during the second of four Fan Fest events conducted this spring from Utah to Nevada to Texas to California.

BYU prepares for national championship match against Ohio State

BYU men's volleyball spent the day preparing for its national championship match against Ohio State. In the morning, the Cougars headed to St. John Arena for a 90 minute practice. Following that, Joseph Grosh, Kiril Meretev, Wil Stanley and head coach Shawn Olmstead joined the media for a press conference.

BYU men's volleyball began the day with a press conference and practice, in preparation for its Final Four match against No. 2 seed Long Beach State. Jake Langlois, Ben Patch, Erik Sikes and head coach Shawn Olmstead fielded questions from the media before the team took to the court for a 90 minute practice. After lunch, the Cougars had a film session on the 49ers.

Cougars prepare for play-in match against Barton

The BYU men's volleyball team began preparations for its NCAA tournament play-in match against Barton Monday. After breakfast, the squad headed to the campus of The Ohio State University for weight lifting. The players then entered St. John Arena for the first time for a 90 minute practice. The team rounded out the day with a film session on its opponent. The Cougars face Barton Tuesday, May 2, at 6 p.m. EDT in Columbus, Ohio.

Cougars prepare for battle with No. 3 seed Hawai'i

The BYU men's volleyball team took to the court at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California, for the first time Wednesday, practicing in the evening for two hours. Prior to practice, the Cougars began the day with a study hall, finishing homework and preparing for upcoming finals. Following lunch, several players and coaches participated in media interviews before the team headed to practice at Long Beach State's gym. After a post-practice meal, the Cougars studied film on Hawai'i. BYU faces the Rainbow Warriors Thursday, April 20, at 5 p.m.

Alldredge named Madness WCC Softball Player of the Week

After a strong performance last week, Caitlyn Larsen Alldredge was named the College Sports Madness Softball Player of the Week.

In addition to the Madness weekly honor, Alldredge was also named the WCC Player of the Week earlier today.

ESPNU TELEVISING AGAIN: It was released a couple days ago that BYU's game at Gonzaga will be televised by ESPNU/WatchESPN, Saturday, May 20, 7:30 p.m. PT. ESPNU televised the BYU-Santa Clara game last year in Provo.
 
UPCOMING GRADUATIONS: Graduating this month from BYU are: pitcher Brady Corless in family life and current graduate assistant/former shortstop Hayden Nielsen in exercise and wellness.

Bull picks up Madness WCC Player of the Week honor

In addition to her West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week nod, McKenna Bull was named the Madness WCC Softball Player of the Week for the second time this season after her strong play last week.

This is the third Madness WCC Player of the Week honor for BYU this season. Bull also picked up the award in March and Libby Sugg won back in February.
