Flotrack.org caught up with junior distance runner Conner Peloquin to talk about what it's like to be in the minority at BYU as a non-LDS student athlete.

"Non-Mormon or Mormon, I think this is the place to be," Peloquin said. "Especially if you want to run fast."

ESPN adds two games to WAC schedule involving BYU

DENVER – ESPN has added two November non-conference games to the WAC schedule, both involving Brigham Young.  The BYU-San Jose State game on Nov. 17 and the BYU-New Mexico State game on Nov. 24 will be shown on either ESPNU or ESPN3.  The specific platform will be determined 12 days out for each game.
 
Kickoff for the San Jose State game is currently set for 1:00 p.m. PT while the New Mexico State game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. MT, but both could change if selected for ESPNU.
 

Stephenson named CFPA Honorable Mention Punter of the Week

BYU punter Riley Stephenson has earned College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention Punter of the Week accolades for his performance against No. 24 Boise State.

Though the Cougars fell in a close contest, 7-6, Stephenson made an impact on special teams with punts of 52, 55, 56 and 57 yards. The St. George, Utah, native punted six times for an average of 47.0 yards. Four of the senior’s six punts pinned the Broncos inside their 20-yard line.

The BYU women's soccer team plays the University of Oregon tomorrow, Monday Sept. 24, so today they spent traveling to Oregon and get settled into their hotel. 

After traffic delayed the team's departure from Provo, they arrived at the airport with just enough time to run to the gate before their plane took off. A quiet flight landed them in Portland, Oregon, where they hopped on another bus and headed to the house of a friend of the team for some lunch. 

BYU at Boise State Fireside

The BYU football team held a fireside for nearly 1,700 members of the Boise area Wednesday night, with video being streamed to 12 other buildings in the area.

Those in attendance heard spritual messages from receivers and brothers Marcus and Mitch Mathews. Marcus spoke about gaining the proper perspective on life and set the tone for the meeting. His brother Mitch spoke about battling through ups and downs and bore testimony of the Savior.

Hero Ride Update

Day 1 of the Hero Ride for the Holly & Bronco Mendenhall Foundation kicked off yesterday with 87 riders congregating at the football team's practice field and making the first leg of the trip to LaVell Edwards Stadium. 

Nearly every single rider made the trip to LaVell Edwards Stadium before the more experienced riders continued on to complete the first day of the ride in Brigham City, Utah. Click here to see a map of the first day.

BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall, his wife, Holly, and members of the BYU football team will participate in an hour-long devotional Friday at 7 p.m. at Assembly Hall at Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City.
