US Men's Volleyball Falls in Olympic Quarterfinals

After clinching the top seed in the tournament at the London Olympics, the defending champion U.S. men’s volleyball fell to Italy in straight sets in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

Former Cougars Rich Lambourne and Russell Holmes are members of the U.S. team. Lambourne and Holmes started at their respective positions of libero and middle blocker throughout their team's tournament run. 

Team USA reached the quarterfinals after topping Tunisia 25-15, 25-19, 25-19 Monday.

Annual Team Photo Day

The BYU football team took a break from its daily fall camp routine to participate in the team’s annual photo day Tuesday at the Indoor Practice Facility.

Players rotated through various stations for a variety of promotional shots, including broadcast head shots for ESPN and other television outlets, and video green screen shots for BYUtv and the new stadium video boards. Newcomers came dressed in shirts and ties for head shots for before changing into jerseys.

Tonight on the 2012 season premiere of True Blue, football is back in session. As the Cougars prepare for year two of Independence. True Blue reporters Robbie Bullough and Kory Aldous will take you to practice for the latest news and analysis.

Robbie Bosco, quarterback of the 1984 National Championship team, is in-studio to discuss this year’s team and its group of quarterbacks, led by Riley Nelson.

Former Cougars help lift US men's volleyball

In a rematch of the Beijing Olympic final, the US men’s national volleyball team topped top-ranked Brazil 3-1 in London Thursday.

After dropping its first set in three matches, the U.S. rallied back to win the next three for a 23-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-17 victory.

In memory of the 40-year anniversary of LaVell Edwards being named head football coach at BYU, we found a list of classic LaVell quotes from his time at BYU.

Edwards was asked if a Playboy magazine article predicting BYU to finish 7-5 in 1978 had any merit. Edwards' response: "Not too many people read Playboy in Provo."

New Football Lobby Unveiled

BYU Athletics unveiled the new football lobby in a ceremony honoring donors Wednesday at the Student Athlete Building.

Head coach Bronco Mendenall addressed the donors, expressing appreciation for their contributions and what the new lobby represents.

BYU Football Couple's Clinic/Date Night

The lights in LaVell Edwards Stadium were shining late into the night, Tuesday, for the football team's Date Night/Couple's Clinic. Laughs and cheers could be heard as coaches, players and fans gathered for drills, dinner, a short talent show, a comedic performance and a fun atmosphere to celebrate the start of a new BYU football season.

US Men's Volleyball Improves to 2-0 in London Olympics

The U.S. men’s volleyball team continued its strong early run at the London Olympics with a quick three-set sweep over Germany Tuesday.

The Americans made quick of the Germans in an 89-minute 25-23, 25-26, 25-20 victory.

Team USA has not lost a set yet and plays No. 1 Brazil on Thursday. The two teams last met in the World Cup in November, where the Brazilians prevailed in four sets.

Former Cougars Russell Holmes and Rich Lambourne continued their contribution to the U.S. team as the starting middle blocker and designated libero, respectively
