Day Two (Monday, Nov. 28)
BYU began the day with a spirited practice at the Cannon Activities Center on the campus of BYU-Hawaii. After a light weightlifting session, the Cougars headed to Papa Ole’s Kitchen in nearby Hau’ula for some island cuisine. The menu included a wide variety of “ono grinds” (local favorites) including ribs, garlic chicken, teriyaki chicken, stew, mahi mahi and of course rice and island macaroni salad.
In the afternoon the team was off to experience the “kahiko” (ancient) Hawaiian lifestyle with a trip to Waimea Falls Park and a swim at the base of the 45-foot waterfall. Way cool. As was the sunset from the hotel later this evening.
Up next: The Cougars will open tournament play on Tuesday in the Hukilau Invitational against host BYU-Hawaii. The game is scheduled for 3:00 pm HT with live coverage on BYU Radio. Robbie Bullough will have the play-by-play for the game. Click this link for additional radio information http://byuradio.org/about/
