PROVO, Utah – The women’s track and field team currently ranks No. 17 in the nation after the rankings were announced earlier this week from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

This is the first time the team has broken into the top-25 while under head coach Ed Eyestone. In the previous release of rankings, BYU was ranked No. 29 and since has moved up 12 spots.

The women’s team had a successful performance this last weekend at the Alex Wilson Invitational where the distance medley relay team came in third overall. Their time of 10:56.93 was just a two-tenths of a second away from the BYU school record.

BYU is one of six teams from the MPSF ranked in the top-25. Oregon is ranked No. 1, Southern California No. 5, Arizona No. 20, Colorado No. 22 and Stanford No. 23. BYU will face these teams this weekend at the MPSF championships.
