Bravo, Bull and Broderick earn NFCA All-Pacific Region

BYU softball’s Gordy Bravo, McKenna Bull and Sydney Broderick were all named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Pacific Region Third Team Thursday.

Bravo played a major role in centerfield and hitting in the leadoff spot. She recorded a .444 batting average with 76 hits and 51 runs scored. She notched nine doubles, two triples, four home runs and 101 total bases while driving in 30 runs, leading the Cougars in on-base percentage (.510) and ranking second in slugging (.591).

The ace pitcher Bull recorded one of the most productive seasons in BYU history. She posted a 34-9 record with a 2.31 ERA while appearing in 46 games with 29 complete games including eight shutouts. Opponents had a .227 average against her as she tallied 256 strikeouts during the regular season. Ranking in the top five in the nation, Bull set the school mark for most victories in a single season by breaking former Cougar pitcher Paige Affleck’s 2010 mark of 32.

The catcher Broderick contributed behind the plate in Bull’s productive season. She hit .358 with 12 doubles, three triples, seven home runs and a team-leading 44 RBI. She also posted a .599 slugging percentage and caught nine runners stealing.
