Larry H. Miller & Sherald James Honored by BYU Athletics

The BYU Athletic Department is pleased to present Sherald James as the 2009 recipient of the Foundation of Excellence Award and Larry H. Miller as the 2009 Recipient of the Dale Rex Memorial Award.

The Foundation of Excellence Award is given to an individual whose contributions helped lay the foundation of BYU's athletic success. Previous recipients of the award include Michael King, Ann Valentine, Stan Watts, Karl Tucker, Lu Wallace, Rod Kimball, and Floyd Johnson.

The Dale Rex Award is given to the person thought to have contributed the most to amateur athletics in the State of Utah. Previous recipients of the award include Dave Rose, Bronco Mendenhall, Missy Marlowe, Cael Sanderson, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, LaVell Edwards, and Danny Ainge.

Sherald James and members of Larry H. Miller Family will receive these prestigious awards at a banquet in their honor on Thursday, November 19 in the Skyroom at BYU. A limited number of seats, at the cost of $25/plate, are available to Cougar Club members on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the Cougar Club Office (801-422-2583).
