Hours before kickoff, fans gather across the street from LaVell Edwards Stadium for food and soft drinks, sharing stories of past football heroics and anticipating another triumphant victory. With the Wasatch Mountains serving as a picturesque backdrop, the stadium is filled with 64,045 of some of the nation’s best fans, young and old alike. The BYU marching band entertains the blue and white clad crowd with spirited tunes and the Cougar Fight song, amplified by the voices of BYU fans. The BYU cheerleading squad, Cosmo the BYU mascot and halftime shows with the Cougarettes, the defending national champion dance team, all help make LaVell Edwards Stadium one of a kind. The offense is high-powered and the fans await the boom of the Army ROTC cannon after every scoring play.
