On Feb. 19, 1999, the Cougars defeated Hawai’i, 3-1, in front of 14,156 fans in the Marriott Center to set the NCAA single-match attendance record.

BYU recorded a Smith Fieldhouse record on Feb. 23, 2001 when 6,119 fans were on hand for a four-game victory over No. 1 UCLA. Six of the Cougars’ top-seven attendances in the Smith Fieldhouse have been against the Bruins, including 6,072 in 2005, the third-highest total in Fieldhouse history.

Much of the success of BYU Men’s Volleyball over the years can be attributed to the consistent support of Cougar fans. A favorite among students, BYU can always rely on the enthusiastic loyalty of its fans.

Cougar volleyball fans are some of the most intense and boisterous in the nation. In 2006, more than 48,000 fans (avg. 3,475) watched the Cougars finish with a 13-1 home record.
