With a 9-3 record in the Smith Fieldhouse in 2009, the Cougars have posted an impressive 168-23 (.832) home record since the 1997 season. Nearly 600,000 fans have packed the Smith Fieldhouse and Marriott Center to watch BYU since the team began NCAA play in 1990, making it one of the most popular sporting events on campus.
The Marriott Center has also played host to BYU Men’s Volleyball, making it the largest on-campus volleyball facility in the nation. In 1999, the Cougars set an NCAA single-match record for attendance when BYU hosted Hawai’i on Feb. 19, 1999. The 14,156 fans witnessed the Cougars’ decisive 3-1 victory over the Warriors.

Student Athlete Building state-of-the-art features include: Student Athlete Academic Center, Nutrition Center, Athletics Legacy Hall (Hall of Fame), Athletic Administration Offices, Jamba Juice Café and Legends Grill.
Student Athlete Academic Center
Tutors and mentors work through these offices. Athletes have access to 42 computer stations, an interactive classroom, 10 small study areas and one large quiet room. Also on staff are a sports psychologist and nutritionist.
Fans, coaches and athletes can view 11 plasma TV screens, a ticker tape with world wide sports scores or view specialty events on a projection screen while catching a bite to eat.
