WINNING TRADITIONBYU’s women’s track and field team produced two national champions in 2009, Lacey Cramer (800m) and Amy Menlove (pentathlon). In addition, the team has won 9 of 11 MWC indoor titles and 8 of 10 MWC outdoor titles since the formation of the conference. They also finished third at indoor Nationals and 15th at outdoor during 2009.
COACHING STAFFCraig Poole enters his 30th season as the head coach for the women’s track and field team. Poole has coached 18 National Champions and has been named a MWC Coach of the Year eight times and was a WAC Coach of the Year 10 times. He also has experience on an international level after serving as the United State head coach at the 2004 World University Games in Beijing, China.
ACADEMICSBYU has a high commitment to the success of the student-athletes. A full-time Academic Advisement staff, mentor and tutor programs, and a member of the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, the university offers assistance at many different levels of the education process.

ATHLETIC TRAININGBYU has a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning center with nearly 10,000 feet of working space that ranks among the nation’s best. It features 106 stations to accommodate both female and male athletes. BYU’s strength and conditioning staff includes certified athletic trainers, a sports physical therapist, a team physician, team orthopedic surgeons and a wide variety of other medical specialists. The staff has experienced excellent results through its computer-analyzed combination of a strict weight and conditioning program, a carefully planned diet and sufficient rest.
COMPETITIVE SCHEDULEThe Cougars have the opportunity to compete at some of the top meets in the nation each season, including the prestigious New Balance Invitational in New York City. With one indoor and three outdoor home meets, along with a schedule that features events from across the nation, the team has several opportunities to compete against the best schools in the country.
EXPOSUREMany of BYU’s student athletic competitions are broadcast on BYU Television, which is available in 17 million homes nationwide via Dish Network and DirectTV and on cable in Northern Utah, Idaho, Arizona and Nevada.
