Donation Requests

The Brigham Young University Department of Athletics seeks to support organizations and activities that strengthen the communities of our loyal Cougar fans. BYU student-athletes, coaches and administrators are dedicated to working with you in maintaining the BYU spirit and tradition.

DONATION REQUESTS

The BYU Athletics Department wishes to be an integral part of the University and local community and is willing to fill donation requests for non-profit organizations and charitable causes. Donations might include anything from signed memorabilia to BYU T-shirts, depending on the nature of the request and/or event.

To make a request, please fill out and submit the donation request form. A staff member will contact you regarding the request. Please allow 2-3 weeks for requests to be processed.

Please Note:

  • Though BYU would like to fill every request, due to high demand we may not be able to do so.
  • BYU is not able to donate tickets of any kind.
  • The BYU Athletics Department will not accept requests from organizations that do not adhere to NCAA rules and regulations.

In addition, due to NCAA rules, BYU will not accept requests from or which will benefit:

  • High Schools
  • Preparatory Schools
  • Junior Colleges
  • Youth athletics organizations that include prospects OR other organizations that include only young people defined by the NCAA as prospects (young people in grades nine and up who have yet to enroll full-time in a university) or their teachers or coaches.

Donation Specific Questions

Terms of Agreement:

According to the NCAA Bylaw 12.5.1.1, BYU student-athletes can participate in charitable/nonprofit activities only under the following condition:

  • The student-athlete does not miss class.
  • The student-athlete receives written approval from the Director of Athletics (or designee).
  • All monies derived from the activity will go directly to the charitable/nonprofit agency.
  • The specific activity in which the student-athlete participates does not involve co-sponsorship, advertisement, or promotion by a commercial agency.
  • The student-athlete may only accept actual and necessary expenses such as meals and travel from the institution or charitable/nonprofit agency.
  • The student-athlete signs a release statement prior to the activity (or has release statement of file with the compliance office).
  • The student-athlete's name, picture or appearance is not utilized to promote the commercial ventures of the agency.
