Named Freshmen of the Year in the Mountain West Conference and a first team all-league pick, Brugman hit .317 with 9 homers, 19 doubles, 5 triples and 49 RBI. The outfielder from Phoenix, Ariz., also swiped 13 of 15 bases.

Poulson, from Taylorsville, was 6-0 with a 4.15 ERA. He fanned 49 batters with 21 walks over 15 appearances.

Mahoney, from West Point, was 3-2 with 4 saves and a 2.42 ERA. He fanned 21 batters over 22.1 innings.

"We are extremely happy for these three players, they contributed greatly to our season," said BYU coach Vance Law. "We are looking forward to bright futures from them. This shows that young players have contributed to our program."
