Mike Dresser - Up Close

Nickname: Slash, Dresser.

Favorite cold cereal: Corn Chex.

Favorite Steve Cleveland quote: "Dresser, we're going to go ahead and eligiblize you," or "Dresser, guard Bigelow. He needs to be fouled."

Why did I choose to play Basketball over other sports: Family tradition, it's active and I love the dunk.

Before a Basketball game, I: Take a nap or watch TV at home, then drive to the game with my music up loud.

Who has had the greatest influence on my Basketball career and why: My parents. My mom for her support, and my dad because he taught me how to play. I've always wanted to follow in his footsteps.

Who is the best player I've ever faced: LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers).

What would I like to do sometime in my life: Get married and have children.

One place I would like to visit: March Madness.

If I could play another position, what would it be: Center.

What is my favorite hobby or activity away from Basketball: Spending time with family and friends.

The best books I've ever read: Mormon Athletes II, by William T. Black.

People say I look like: Joe Millionaire.

My favorite professor or most interesting class I've taken at BYU: Dr. Hedges, Psychology 111.

What is my most memorable athletic achievement or moment: Dunking in my first high school playoff game and walking onto the BYU basketball team.

If I had to give up all of my possessions except one, what would be the one thing I kept and why: My scrapbook. Its got all of my favorite memories in it.

My favorite scripture: 2 Nephi 2:25-26.

My advice to youngsters: Follow your dreams. You never know when they might come true.

If I were on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, the person I'd call for my lifeline is: My brother Jeff. He's a teacher and knows everything sports related.

If I could invite any three people to dinner they would be: David Robinson, Steve Young and Will Ferrell.
