-- Jackson Emery got into the mix as well, netting his first points as a Cougar with a jump shot from the top of the key midway through the second half. He added a free throw to finish with three points.

BYU Coach Dave Rose

"In the second half our guys played with a lot more purpose. I really believe that the last 10 to 12 minutes came down to mental toughness."

"For the most part I was pleased with our effort."

"In the first half we were really impatient. A lot of guys were hunting out shots."

"Our half-court offense needs some work; we were very impatient."

"Our effort was really good, but we've got some execution issues to deal with."

Victoria Coach Craig Beaucamp

"We gave them too many easy scores in the second half, which helped them gain confidence."

"BYU has some athletes. They have lots of potential and seem to be a lot deeper this year."
