On Dec. 28, 2009, Jimmer Fredette made Cougar history in BYU’s 99-69 win at Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl Classic.
To recap, Fredette hit 16-of-23 from the field, 9-of-13 from downtown and 8-of-9 from the free throw line for a BYU single-game record 49 points. The nine threes were also a BYU single game record. He had 24 first half points and poured in 25 in the second half.
Fredette earned Fiesta Bowl Classic MVP honors for his performance, which also included nine assists, seven rebounds and two steals.
