Gridders Set For Final Scrimmage

PROVO -- The Cougars will hold their final scrimmage of the 2001 spring season on Saturday, beginning at noon (MDT) at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The full-contact, controlled scrimmage will be open to the public. Admittance to the scrimmage will be on the west side of the stadium only.

Prior to the scrimmage, selected players and coaches will hold a free youth clinic, available to youth 14-years-old and under. Fans wishing to participate are encouraged to arrive and be seated in the west side of the stadium prior to 11:30 a.m. When the players and coaches are ready for the participants, a public address announcement will be made for youth to gather on the field, as well as additional instructions for participants.

Following the youth clinic, the team will participate in a series of drills, prior to the 90-minute full-contact scrimmage. Like previous scrimmages this season, Saturday's event will divide the offensive units against the defensive units, as opposed to dividing the entire roster in to teams.

Admission to Saturday's scrimmage is free, however personal video equipment, such as video cameras, cam recorders, digital cameras, etc., will not be permitted in Edwards Stadium.
