BIRMINGHAM -- The BYU men's golf team shot 2-over-par as a team in the third round of the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate Tuesday to finish 2-over-par in the tournament in 11th place.
The 2007 Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate was held on the par-71 Old Overton Club Course with yardage set at 6,958. Twelve teams participated in the three-round, two-day tournament, and Alabama, the host university, won the tournament at 42-under-par 270-268-272-810.
Sixty players competed in the tournament. Mark Harrell of Alabama and Seamus Power of East Tennessee State tied for first place at 15-under-par.
BYU's Robbie Fillmore, a sophomore from Salt Lake City, shot 71-68-68 to lead the Cougar squad. He finished with a score of 6-under-par 71-68-68?207.
Also in the top 20 from BYU was junior Nick Killpack of St. George, Utah, who shot 1-over-par Tuesday to finish 3-under-par, 68-70-72--210.
