BYU To Play For Adams Cup

PROVO -- The 19th-ranked Cougars tee-off against 17 other teams to compete for the eighth annual Adams Cup at Newport Country Club and Point Judith Country Club in Narragansett, R.I. Tuesday and Wednesday.

After a victory at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Sept. 22, BYU's Manuel Merizalde leads the Cougars into the 54-hole event hosted by the University of Rhode Island.

The tournament begins Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Newport Country Club where the first two rounds will be played. The final round begins Wednesday at 8 a.m. at Point Judith Country Club. The course at Newport Country Club plays to par 70 over 6,658 yards. The course at Point Judith Country Club plays to par 70 over 6,647 yards.
