COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The final Mountain West Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors of the 2006-07 season have been given to Wyoming senior Erin Spadinger and San Diego State freshman Caitlin Atkinson for the women. The men's swimmer of the week is shared by Air Force senior Chris Knaute and BYU senior Brett Allen, while BYU freshman Brandon Watson was voted as the men's diver of the week.

Allen, from Katy, Texas, remained undefeated on the season in the 50 and 100 free, placing first in both against Utah with times of 20.24 and 45.60, respectively. He also anchored the 200 medley relay to a winning time of 1:30.60.

Watson, from Riverton, Utah, won both diving events against the Utes last week. He scored a 349.73 in the one-meter, setting a new MWC season high and his 386.03 in the three-meter event is his second-best score of the season.

Spadinger, a native of Midland, Texas, led Wyoming to a dual win over Colorado State last Friday. She opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.98 and then won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.98. With the Cowgirls trailing the Rams with four individual events remaining, Spadinger won two of those to seal the win. She won the 200 breast (2:24.19) and the 200 IM in a season-best time of 2:10.48.

Atkinson, from Laguna Niguel, Calif., won both diving events against San Diego last weekend, breaking both Aztecs' records. In the one-meter, she scored 273.15 to break the mark she set earlier this season when she posted a 268.59 at the UNLV Invitational. That score is also the ninth best in the MWC this season and made her a Zone E qualifier. In the three-meter event, she carded a 265.50 to break teammate Megan Flanagan's record of 265.20 also set earlier this season.

Knaute, a native of Houston, Texas, led Air Force to a season-ending 142-101 win over Wyoming by winning three individual events. He won the 1,000 freestyle in 9:39.34, which was 18 seconds faster than the next closest finisher. He immediately swam a winning time of 1:41.34 in the 200 free and later won the 500 free in 4:39.57.
