Athletes Host Local Community

Top BYU athletes will host Cougar Track and Field Day Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. at the BYU track and field complex.

PROVO -- Current BYU track athletes will host Cougar Track and Field Day at the BYU Outdoor Track and Field Complex beginning at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2004.

The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about track and field. Individuals will have the opportunity to work with top BYU track and field athletes such as All-Americans Trent Powell, Curtis Pugsley, Michaela Mannova, Kassi Andersen, Laura Turner, Julie Cameron and even former BYU All-Americans such as NCAA Steeplechase Champion Elizabeth Jackson.

"This gives those in the Provo/Orem community the opportunity to work one-on-one with some of the nations best athletes," men's head coach Mark Robison said.

The event will begin at 6:45 p.m. where athletes will host clinics in the different events. Following the individual training, BYU track and field will unveil the 2004 All-American poster, which athletes will then autograph. The entire event will conclude around 8 o'clock p.m.
