PROVO -- The BYU men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Los Angeles this weekend to go up against host UCLA and Cal State Northridge on Saturday.
The Cougar women, tied for sixth in the latest Trackwire 25, will be facing another top-ten team in UCLA, ranked third in the Trackwire 25. BYU defeated UCLA during the indoor season when the teams competed in a four-way meet with Miami and Illinois.
The No. 22 BYU men will be looking to improve on their ranking as they go up against talented Bruin and Matador squads. UCLA fell from this week's Trackwire rankings after being 24th last week.
The meet will begin with the hammer throw at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to conclude with the men's 4x400m relay at 4 p.m. For more information and a complete schedule of events for the UCLA Triangular, go to http://uclabruins.fansonly.com.
While the majority of the Cougar squads will be in Los Angeles over the weekend, both teams will send several athletes to compete in two additional meets.
The BYU men will send some of their athletes to Ogden, Utah to compete in the Wildcat Invitational and the Cougar women will be sending a contingency to Tempe, Ariz. for the Sun Angel Track Classic.
