Track Teams Top MWC Scholar Athlete List

Senior Chad Simkins was named a 2004 MWC Scholar Athlete after posting a 3.84 GPA in Accounting.

PROVO -- The Mountain West Conference recently named 34 members of the BYU men's and women's track teams as 2004 MWC Scholar Athletes of BYU's conference-high 92 citations.

To be eligible for selection of the Scholar-Athlete award, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have competed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.

With 22 MWC Scholar-Athletes, the women's team led any other BYU team while the men's 12 citations ranked near the top. Four All-Americans claimed MWC Scholar-Athlete status including Robbie Pratt, Nathan Robison, Kassi Andersen and Lisa Antonelli-Pratt.
