PROVO -- Co-interim head coaches Ryan Millar and Shawn Patchell have released the BYU men's volleyball schedule for the upcoming 2007 season.

"Right out of the gate we will have a good indication of our team with our Canadian (exhibition) tournament," Millar said. "We also play a good Pepperdine team in the preseason."

The Cougars have exhibition matches scheduled for two separate weeks in October. BYU will head to Alberta, Canada, Oct. 13-14 before hosting Pepperdine Oct. 26-27

For the third consecutive season, BYU will kick off its home schedule with Cal.-Bapist Jan. 5 and 6 before welcoming defending National Champion UCLA to the Smith Fieldhouse Jan. 12 and 13.

"The UCLA matches will be a nice tone-setter for the season and a good indicator of what we can expect this year," Millar said.

Millar noted that the toughest stretch of the Cougars' schedule will be in March when BYU heads to Southern California three consecutive weekends to take on USC, UC Santa Barbara and Cal. State Northridge.

"This season will be exciting, " Millar said. "We have a lot of talent and will have a new attitude this year."
