BYU women’s basketball continues West Coast Conference action this week with two games. The Cougars (13-6, 4-2) host Saint Mary’s (14-5, 6-1) Thursday at 7 p.m. MST, in the Marriott Center where they are undefeated with a 9-0 record. BYU then travels to play at Santa Clara (12-8, 4-3) Saturday at 2 p.m. PST. Thursday’s game can be seen live on BYUtv while the road game at Santa Clara can be heard live on BYU Radio.

Live from the KSL 5 TV studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose kicked off his weekly Coach's Show with a full recap of last week's games on the road against Gonzaga and Portland. 

"We really have to compete hard in this conference, and especially when we're playing a Top 10 team. We have to get a lot of guys to contribute and that was something we struggled with against Gonzaga. At Portland we responded well and executed our game plan, and it turned out much better. The pace was more like us."

Rematch with Boise State on Friday

PROVO, Utah – The BYU gymnastics team will have a chance at some redemption, heading to Boise State on Friday for a rematch after dropping a close one to the Broncos last week.

The Cougars fell 194.700 to 194.425 in last week’s meet against Boise State at the Smith Fieldhouse. The team battled injuries combined with some miscues on the uneven bars was too much to overcome.

BYU Announces 2013 Football Schedule

PROVO, Utah — Brigham Young University today announced its 2013 football schedule. The 12-game schedule includes fellow independent Notre Dame and teams from eight conferences, including Atlantic Coast, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, Big East, Conference USA, Mountain West and Big Sky.
 

Excerpts from Forgotten Champions, Mel Hutchins

In the weeks leading up to the jersey retirement for Mel Hutchins and Roland Minson, BYUcougars.com will share excerpts from the book Forgotten Champions by Rocky Steele. Published in 2011, Forgotten Champions remembers BYU’s 1951 NIT Championship. The jersey retirement game will be Feb. 16 against Portland in the Marriott Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
