Rose featured in Coaches vs. Cancer commercial

BYU basketball coach Dave Rose is one of the featured coaches in a recent commercial for Coaches vs. Cancer. Rose has been involved with Coaches vs. Cancer his entire career and he was named a member of the National Coaches vs. Cancer Council in April. The council assists Coaches vs. Cancer in its efforts to raise awareness and funding. The council also includes Mike Krzyzewski (Duke), Roy Williams (North Carolina), Jim Boeheim (Syracuse) and Mike Brey (Notre Dame).

Hoffman named to 2012 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—BYU junior wide receiver Cody Hoffman has been named to the 2012 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List released on Tuesday.  

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc., the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award, released the watch list. The award annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football.

Three Cougars named to preseason award watch lists

BYU seniors Braden Hansen and Uona Kaveinga along with junior Kyle Van Noy were each named to award watch lists on Monday recognizing the nation's best linemen and linebackers.

HOUSTON  – The Rotary Club of Houston today announced the 43rd Annual Rotary Lombardi Award Official Watch List. The Rotary Lombardi Award is given to the nation’s top college lineman or linebacker each year.

BYU senior offensive lineman Braden Hansen and junior outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy were both named to the list.

Kaveinga named to preseason Butkus Award Watch List

CHICAGO – The 28th annual Butkus Award® selection process to honor the nation’s best linebackers began Monday with the announcement of the collegiate and high school preseason watch lists. BYU senior inside linebacker Uona Kaveinga represents the Cougars among 38 universities recognized on the collegiate watch list.

Walker ends run at World Juniors

BARCELONA, Spain -- Shaquille Walker's run at the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships came to an end on Saturday in the semifinals of the 800 meters.

Walker clocked a time of 1:51.43 and took seventh in his heat. The top two in each heat plus the two next best times advanced to Sunday's final.
