KAZAN, Russia -- Tyler Haws and the USA World University Games squad celebrated the 4th of July in style with a 94-60 victory over Russian professional team UNICS in Basket Hall 1.

Davies inks deal with the Clippers

PROVO, Utah – Former BYU forward Brandon Davies has signed a partially guaranteed one-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Davies will take the first step towards earning a spot on the Clippers’ 2013-14 roster when he competes in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Summer League will be held July 12-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus on UNLV.

Haws and the USA WUG team arrive in Russia

Tyler Haws and the USA Basketball Men's World University Games team arrived in Kazan, Russia, on Wednesday. Haws, his teammates and coaches departed Denver on Monday and had layovers in Washington D.C. and Istanbul, Turkey, before arriving at their final destination. Tyler Haws and the USA Basketball Men's World University Games team will open competition at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia, on Sunday against the United Arab Emirates.

Haws and his USA teammates will practice in Kazan beginning Wednesday and compete in scrimmages against UNICS (a Russian professional team) on Thursday and the Russian World University Games team on Friday.

Pacific joins WCC

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The University of the Pacific formally joined the West Coast Conference Monday, fielding a team in 10 of the conference's 14 sponsored sports.

With Pacific’s return to the conference, the WCC has the needed six teams to become a softball league. The conference welcomes softball teams from BYU, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Saint Mary’s, San Diego and Santa Clara, most of which made up the Pacific Coast Softball Conference during the 2013 season.

Haws punches ticket to Russia with USA World University Games Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the last five days, Tyler Haws has participated in the USA Men's Basketball World University Games training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. He survived the first cut on Wednesday that sent 10 players home and kept 16 to battle for a coveted spot on the 12-man roster.

BYU Broadcasting announces Xbox, Android app

PROVO, Utah -- BYU Broadcasting announced at the 2013 BYU Football Media Day that it is developing video streaming apps for Microsoft's Xbox 360 platform and Android devices, including smartphones and tablets, as part of its efforts to expand the network’s integrated digital media platform.
