BYU Begins Spring Practice

PROVO, Utah - The BYU football team began its spring session of practices with a two-hour run through Monday in the Indoor Practice Facility as the Cougars begin preparation for the 2012 season.

Coming off a 10-3 season and Armed Forces Bowl victory in its first season as an Independent, BYU's first of 15 practices this month featured energy from both the offensive and defensive sides.

LAS VEGAS— The BYU women’s basketball team dethroned reigning champion Gonzaga Monday to take the 2012 Zappos.com West Coast Conference Championship title at the Orleans Arena with the help of epic performances from Cougar post players.

The win propels BYU (26-6, 12-4) to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007 after taking second in regular season play. Monday's victory was also the Cougars' first conference tournament title since 2002.

Touchdown Club Begins Third Year

PROVO, Utah - With the start of spring football Monday, the BYU Touchdown Club is set to begin its third year. The Touchdown Club is a unique way for Cougar fans to celebrate BYU’s success on the field by making a donation for each touchdown the team scores this season. One hundred percent of all donations are used to provide scholarships for former BYU walk-on football players who have earned a spot on the team.

BYU Earns Three Mountain Region Awards

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognized senior Miles Batty, junior Nachelle Mackie and men’s assistant coach Ed Eyestone as Mountain region award winners on Monday.

Batty earned his second consecutive Mountain Region Men’s Track Athlete of the Year award. The senior from Sandy, Utah, reset the collegiate record in the mile this indoor season with a time of 3:54.54 at the Millrose Games.
