WCC action kicks off on Friday at home

PROVO, Utah – The No. 6/4 BYU women’s soccer team kicks off West Coast Conference play this weekend against No. 21 Santa Clara with a game on Friday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. MT.
The Cougars boast an impressive 11-1 season record and are currently on a nine-game winning streak. BYU went undefeated (8-0) through the month of September for the first time since the 1997 season when the team went 9-0.

No. 16 women's volleyball to face Loyola Marymount

PROVO, Utah—No. 16 BYU women's volleyball returns to California for a one-match road trip Thursday against Loyola Marymount before enjoying a weekend off.

The Cougars (15-1, 3-1) will face the Lions (10-6, 1-2) in Los Angeles at 7 p.m. PDT, then return to Provo for their bye weekend. BYU plays at home following the bye, welcoming Portland and San Francisco to the Smith Fieldhouse.

BYU is looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season Saturday to Saint Mary’s on the road.

The tailgating scene has been growing in Provo this season. The BYU Alumni Association put together a video highlighting some of the fans who have enjoyed themselves with food and fun before the games. Keep coming early to get ready to cheer on the Cougars!

BYU is set to take on Utah State in its second Friday night matchup of 2012 on Oct. 5. Kickoff is set for 8:15p.m. MT and will be televised live from LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on ESPN and KSL Radio 1160 AM, 102.7 FM and ksl.com.  

Fans should tune into the live Countdown to Kickoff pregame show at 7 p.m. MT on BYUtv and BYUtvsports.com. Also tune in to BYUtv and BYUtvsports.com for the live postgame show following conclusion of the game. Pregame radio coverage will begin at 6 p.m. MT on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio (SiriusXM channel 143).

Blackout scheduled for BYU vs. Oregon State

PROVO, Utah (Oct. 1, 2012) — BYU announced today the home football game versus Oregon State on Saturday, Oct. 13, will be a blackout — on the field and in the stands, not the television broadcast.

For the first time in the modern era the Cougars will wear a black uniform, specially created by Nike. Fans are being encouraged to support the team by wearing black to the game that will air regionally on ABC at 1:30 pm MT (3:30 pm ET).

College Football Performance Awards

Senior Riley Stephenson received Punt Performer of the Week honorable mention accolades while junior Kyle Van Noy earned Linebacker Performance of the Week honorable mention.

The St. George native booted three punts for 148 yards, including a season-high 61-yard punt, for an average of 49.3 yards. Stephenson is averaging 47.51 yards on the season for a No. 3 national ranking.
