Spring Outdoor Tourney This Weekend at Home

PROVO - To close out its spring season, the BYU women's soccer team will play two home games on South Field this Saturday as a part of their annual Outdoor Tournament. Admission is free to all fans for every game.

The Cougars will be joined by teams from all around Utah, Idaho and Wyoming like Dixie, Utah State, Wyoming, Utah and more.

Below is the full schedule for all the teams participating in the tournament.

BYU Wins Back Friday but Falls in 3 For Saturday

LOS ANGELES  — After a careful review of the final minutes of the match between BYU and UCLA on Friday, April 6, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation ruled that the end of game five would be replayed prior to the beginning of the second match on Saturday evening.

Blair leads the way for the Cougars

Day 1 Recap

TEMPE, Ariz. – Junior Zac Blair finished fifth, leading the BYU men's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational, which featured five of the countries top-20 teams on Saturday.

“Zac started it off well early, but had a bad break on the fifth hole,” BYU coach Bruce Brockbank. “He had his chances to win it all, but fell just short.”

PROVO—Alex Wolfe’s two-run double in the seventh inning gave BYU its only lead Saturday afternoon in the 8-6 victory over league-leading Loyola Marymount.

Cougars Get One Against No. 15 Hawai'i

PROVO, Utah – After falling in a close contest, 1-0, the BYU softball team jumped out early and went on to a 7-3 win over No. 15 Hawai'i on Saturday at Miller Park in front of a record 1,953 fans.

BYU improved to 24-11 and 4-3 in the Western Athletic Conference while Hawai'i goes to 32-4 and 6-2 in WAC play.

PROVO, Utah – With its second 6-1 conference win of the weekend, the No. 45 BYU men’s tennis team topped the Portland Pilots Saturday at the BYU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

“We had a great showing in doubles and played with real intensity today,” BYU coach Brad Pearce said. “We want to do that, come out and sweep doubles. We came out strong in singles too and executed our play. This was the first match the team has played outside at home and the guys adjusted really well to it.”

Cougars Fall in Five on The Road to UCLA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 4 BYU men's volleyball team lost a tough five-set match on Friday against No. 3 UCLA on the road at the John Wooden Center. 

It appeared BYU had won the match in the fifth set on an ace from Josue Rivera that made the score 17-15, but after a 10-minute discussion the call was overturned and it was determined the point would be replayed. From there, UCLA came back to win set five 20-18 for the victory. 

Lions Vault Into First With 3-2 Victory

PROVO, Utah – Loyola Marymount used a 3-2 victory over BYU’s baseball team to return to sole-possession of first place in the West Coast Conference on Friday night.

LMU (13-13, 4-1) took an early lead through the first three innings and never trailed on their way to the win. BYU fell to 5-3 in WCC conference and 13-12 overall.

Fireworks Postponed, Baseball Will Play

PROVO, Utah - Due to inclement weather, the fireworks show planned for tonight's baseball and softball games has been postponed. 

The baseball game against Loyola Marymount will be played at its slated time at 6 p.m. MT.

BYU softball's game against No. 15 Hawai'i tonight has been cancelled. Saturday's doubleheader will go be held as planned beginning at 1:30 p.m. MT.
